For anyone with a strong sense of independence, Fourth of July would rank highly on the Favorite Holidays list.
That’s why it’s #2 on mine, just after Christmas. (Because I also have a strong sense of magical traditions.)
I do love my independence.
Like the freedom to mingle…
and the freedom to explore…
the freedom to torture my children…
and other peoples children…
the freedom to run amuck on summer days…
and to watch fireworks from our favorite spot.
It’s all very freeing, isn’t it?
